Testimonials

  • “TASD is still around to help me when I need it. In alumni services everyone has been so much help. They're there for me when I need advice or need anyone to talk to no matter the cause.”
    Amanda (TASD resident 2004-2007)
  • “When I was living at TASD I didn't like the rules. After I left I realized they taught me a lot because I am somebody.”
    Maria (TASD resident 2003-2005)

Youth Activities

Toussaint Academy ensures that its youth are regularly involved in activities that bring both insight and enjoyment. The following are just a few of the ways in which our youth are able to learn, engage, and grow:

After completing their homework with USD tutors, residents may choose to develop their public-speaking and leadership skills at our Toastmasters’ International Speech Class.

Residents explore conflict resolution, self-control, and other proactive communication skills at the Alternative to Violence Class.

A rotating group of artists leads residents through a variety of creative activities during art courses sponsored by Angela Brannon and It’s All About the Kids Foundation.

Residents can relax and regroup at special outings designed around bookstores, coffeehouses, and yogurt mills.

Weekends and Holidays provide residents the chance to develop interests ranging from film (through visits to the drive-in) and bicycling to horseback riding, laser tag, and rollerblading.

Visits to the beach or Farmer’s Market provide a relaxing morning, while afternoon community meetings enable residents the opportunity to address shared issues and ideas.
